Baseball, Mike Piazza ‘gets married’ with the Italian national team: “What a pride”
The Hall of Fame catcher: “It is my regift to Italy”
SPORT (Rome). The Hall of Fame catcher, Mike Piazza, has been presented today as a new manager of the Italian National baseball team: “It is a challenge for me – Piazza said during a special event at the Italian National Olympic Committee’s venue in Rome – It my first experience as a manager and I want to give all my best to get good results. I will manage the team for the 2020 European Baseball Championship and the 2021 World Baseball Classic: the goal is to win to make the Italian movement grow up, with strong players and good investments in the future”. Piazza wanted to remember his origins: “Italy gave me my father as a gift, my commitment will be a sort of regift. I am very proud”. About is career as a manager: “I only know that I need to think step by step. If I will work well here all the opportunities for me will be open”. (Andrea Corti)
